An eerily cloudy sky in the south loop of Chicago.
I should have taken a picture earlier; the sky was actually a bright golden yellow. It was so surreal. Especially since it was already evening. I had never seen anything like it before. When I had gotten up into my cousin’s apartment, I took this pic. The clouds were pretty low, and you can see that it didn’t completely cover the sky. What a weird and beautiful day of strange weather.

The Damen stop on the Blue Line.
This was taken on the day of that crazy thunderstorm w/ tornado warnings. The night sky was looking so crazy with dark clouds with some illumination behind them all. I’m never usually in this part of the city, but I was dropping off a zip car. Interesting little anecdote (which you probably heard of already if you follow me on twitter): I was dropping off the car at its normal spot, which is kind of tucked away behind a building under the El tracks. So it’s kind of isolated. When I pulled in and parked into the spot, I saw another car nearby. There are never any cars other than the zip cars there, so I looked at it a bit closer. And hello, hello… it was a rockin’ and the windows were all fogged up. You could definitely make out the silhouettes of a woman riding… well you get the picture. I didn’t stay long to watch, of course, but I thought it was a pretty interesting thing to run into. :P

A picture of inside O’Hare International Airport.
Thank god I’m back in the awesome city of Chicago again. :)

One of the corridors at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport as I make my way to my gate.
O’Hare is a really busy airport. I actually quite prefer to fly out of Midway, if I can help it. However, the cheapest flight I could get out to Maryland and back from Florida have to go through here. That isn’t to say that this airport is horribly bad. I’ve been through worse airports during some busy times, and I haven’t had any bad experiences. Also, I saw that the security check points have those full body scanners installed. They weren’t being used though. I don’t know if I consider that a relief that I didn’t have to go through that invasion of privacy or a waste of money for not using such sophisticated and expensive equipment. :\

A rainbow in the sky of Chicago after a few hours of torrential rain and tornado warnings.
It was actually quite beautiful. The sky was also a weird yellowish, green… it felt so surreal, like I was in a dream or fantasy world. It was around 8 or 9, but the sky was bright and cloudy. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything like that after a storm before.

A pigeon, on a bags box, on the rooftop deck of my building.
The bird was pooping into the hole.
Happy TGIF, everyone!

Baseball fields at Grant Park.
I’m not sure if I say this, but I LOVE THIS CITY.

More bikers for the World Naked Bike Ride.
There were so many naked people. Some were wearing masks; others just their underwear. It was just wave after wave of human flesh. There were some interesting ones, too. We saw a naked smurf and a naked Navi! I saw one bike carrying a young child in the back… pretty liberal parents, I guess. He looked sleepy and bored!

Naked bike riders cycling around the BP gas station at Clark and La Salle.
I got a text from the cousin telling me about the World Naked Bike Ride that’ll be happening here in Chicago. Needless to say, I went, eager to see the nudity and hijinx. I hopped on a bus and made it a few minutes early, and already there was a crowd starting to form. Many of them had their cameras, of course. The cousin and a friend met me there and we eagerly awaited the nude cyclists to appear. Soon, the police escort rolls around, halting traffic for the block around the gas station. This was their way of protesting BP, I guess, and they were definitely getting a lot of attention.
